About

Seven years ago, we envisioned describing soil nematode diversity to deliver practical solutions that resonate with people and organizations. Plant, insect, and soil nematodes impact our lives, often unnoticed.

Most soil nematodes are beneficial, contributing to nutrient cycling and indicating environmental changes. Some parasitize insects, making them excellent candidates for biological pest control. Only a few nematode groups harm plants due to their feeding behaviors.

In a 1994 Journal of Nematology article, Barker and collaborators emphasized understanding and managing these complex organisms to develop and sustain our food production systems, natural resources, environment, and quality of life.

Driven by this vision, we explore nematode diversity to craft practical solutions. Our focus is on protecting crops from plant-parasitic nematodes, controlling agricultural pests with nematodes as biocontrol agents, and minimizing environmental impacts using nematodes as bioindicators of soil quality. Our passionate team loves sharing their knowledge and advancing sustainable practices.
